Your experience at the Itaipú Hydroelectric Dam during the night adjusts according to the season, with specific schedules for summer and winter.
Summer Schedule:
19:30: Check-in and accreditation at the Visitor Reception Center.
20:45: Boarding the designated vehicles.
21:00: Departure to the Hydroelectric Central.
21:30: Start of the “Monumental Illumination” Show.
22:00: Return to the Visitor Reception Center, and back to the hotels.
Winter Schedule:
18:30: Check-in and accreditation at the Visitor Reception Center.
19:45: Boarding the designated vehicles.
20:00: Departure to the Hydroelectric Central.
20:30: Start of the “Monumental Illumination” Show.
21:00: Return to the Visitor Reception Center, and back to the hotels.
One hour before your scheduled check-in time, a vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Foz do Iguaçu or Puerto Iguazú to take you to the Itaipú Dam.
The experience begins with your arrival and accreditation at the Reception Center. Then, you will board vehicles that will transport you to the dam. There, you will witness the dazzling light show that illuminates the dam, a spectacle lasting about half an hour. Finally, you will return to the Reception Center.
The visit is suitable for all ages and is conducted in Portuguese, but it's enjoyable for everyone. It's recommended to wear appropriate clothing for the evening and to bring documentation in case you need to cross the border on your way there or back.
