Experience an immersive eco-friendly visit at the House of Bottles, a dwelling made entirely from recycled materials, including plastic bottles, cans, tetra pack boxes and plastic tie wraps.
See the house from the inside, its structure, and furniture. During the tour, they will show you the construction process of the place with easily accessible materials, explaining their multiple reuse forms.
Discover the story behind this construction and how the creation of plastic bricks can change and improve the lives of many families.
How to Visit
To visit, go to Av. de los Inmigrantes Lote 7, Mz. B. You can reach from Downtown Puerto Iguazu with the Rio bus company.
The entry fee is 4 USD, and you can visit from 09:00 to 18:00. There’s no need to reserve a date for the tour.
Itinerary
The tour begins even before entering the house, where they will tell the story of the House of Bottles, how and why the first house of bottles was made, and the process of making bricks.
Then, once inside the house, they’ll continue the journey in the living room, where they’ll continue explaining how to construct a conventional wall from recycled materials.
Next, the collaborators will share with the visitors various eco-friendly crafts made from plastic threads, such as thermos bags and baskets, which visitors can buy if they wish, as well as toys made from cans and wood. To conclude, they will invite you to test the furniture based on recycled bottles.
Finally, after moving to the patio and observing the seats made from tires, you will move to the garage where they show how the house construction is completed, showing the reused wood structure and the tetra bick roof covered with plastic for protection.
