Itinerary

The evening begins with pickup from centrally located hotels and from Palermo starting at 6:00 PM, heading to the traditional tango venue in the heart of San Telmo, on Balcarce Street. If you choose the “show only” option, pickup starts at 7:00 PM.

The transfer includes a tour guide who shares historical insights about Buenos Aires and tango along the way.

For guests who select optional activities before the show, pickup is scheduled earlier. These are the available add-ons (you can inquire about them after booking the experience on Civitatis):

  • The wine tasting lasts one hour and includes three varieties such as Malbec, Torrontés, Chardonnay, and Cabernet, paired with cheeses, flavored breads, cured ham, and bruschettas.
  • The tango class also lasts one hour, where instructors teach basic steps, techniques, turns, and dances—it includes a complimentary drink.

Guests are warmly welcomed by the staff at the fully restored conventillo, where they are shown to their assigned seats. Seating is arranged at shared tables based on group size, though VIP tables next to the stage are available—ask about this option when booking your experience.

At 7:00 PM, before the performance begins, a traditional three-course dinner is served featuring the most iconic dishes of Argentine cuisine, accompanied by wine and non-alcoholic beverages.

The menu includes appetizers like traditional empanadas, soups or salads; main courses such as ribeye steak, veal, chicken, or pasta; and desserts like flan or ice cream. A bottle of wine is included for every two people, along with water and soft drinks (see full menu in the FAQs).

After dinner, at 8:00 PM, the tango and folklore show begins, featuring musicians, dancers, and singers.

The performance includes multiple tango couples of various ages and styles, live music played on bandoneon, accordion, piano, and other instruments, solo singers, and exciting gaucho performances using boleadoras as rhythmic instruments and drums.

The show lasts approximately 90 minutes. Photos are allowed during the performance.

Once the show ends, transportation is provided back to your hotel, with return times around 9:30 or 10:00 PM.
