Admission and Tour of the River Museum and Monumental Stadium (Optional Guided Tour)

The River Museum is open every day from 10 AM to 7 PM, while the Monumental Stadium is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Stadium tours depart every 30 minutes and last approximately 40 minutes.

At the River Plate Museum, the visit is self-guided, allowing you to explore at your own pace. It begins with a fascinating time tunnel that takes you back to the club’s origins in 1901 and walks you through its most recent achievements. The tour features themed rooms divided by decades—from 1900–1929 up to the third millennium—highlighting the history and evolution of the club, which was founded on May 25, 1901, as a merger between the Santa Rosa and La Rosales clubs in the La Boca neighborhood.

As you walk through the time tunnel, you’ll discover River Plate’s greatest figures, the legendary teams that shaped its legacy, unforgettable goals, victories, and the most prestigious national and international trophies. You can also search for specific match results, including historic Superclásicos like the first one in 1913, which River won 2–1.

The museum also displays scale models of every stadium River has played in, from their first field in La Boca to the final move to the current Monumental Stadium in 1938. You’ll find showcases filled with international cups, legendary jerseys—including the evolution of the iconic red sash—historic boots worn by players like Gallardo, Almeida, Crespo, Saviola, and Aimar, and even a dedicated room for the epic 2018 Copa Libertadores final against Boca Juniors at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The museum also features a 360° cinema room that screens a film capturing the passion of millions of River Plate supporters.

Access to the Monumental Stadium begins from the stands and follows a guided schedule every 30 minutes, with each tour lasting about 40 minutes. From the stands, you’ll enjoy a full panoramic view of the field inside South America’s largest stadium, which can hold up to 85,000 spectators and was built between 1934 and 1938.

On River’s home matchdays, your visit might be rescheduled to another day. Concerts held at the stadium may impact visibility or temporarily limit access. On matchdays, the museum is open for a limited time and the stadium route may be altered due to maintenance work.
