On May 14th, a family from the province of Cordoba had a close encounter with a puma near the Chorrillo del Salto trail in El Chalten. As a cautionary measure, the trail was subsequently closed to tourists.
After 15 consecutive days of closure, on May 28th, the administration of the protected area reopened the trail to visitors.
