The Salta branch of the Italian immigrant organization is commemorating another anniversary of Italy’s Republic with a traditional lunch featuring southern Italian cuisine.
This Sunday, June 8, marks a new anniversary of the moment when Italy chose to become a republic. To celebrate, the Italian Cultural Society of Salta is organizing a special lunch featuring traditional dishes from the south of the country.
The event will include a two-course menu with homemade specialties. The first dish is “Nvigliulata,” a baked eggplant stuffed with cheese and topped with a flavorful sauce. The second course, “Il Carrettu,” includes Sicilian sausage served with a side of vegetables.
